After the "teaser" was released late last year, Ford Motor Company introduced a completely new global products, namely EcoSport 2012 in New Delhi, India, Wednesday (04/01/2012). Ford reportedly has set aside 142 million dollars for proficiency level compact SUV assembly plant in India.

Ford EcoSport equip with 1-liter EcoBoost engine that can generate power 120 PS, 170 Nm torque and 140 grams of carbon dioxide emissions per km. This model is the same as the Fiesta base.

Ford plans to start marketing EcoSport premiered in India at the end of this year. The price is uncertain but is estimated to about 8 lakh or Rp138, 05 million per unit. Brand "Amrica" is also planning to release a 1.5-liter diesel-powered variant of 91 PS and 204 Nm of torque.

When introduced, Ford has not revealed the technical specifications. EcoSport come up with a figure that is strong enough aura sporty and still show dynamic characteristic of Ford's design on the grille, headlamps, bumpers and fog lamps. Unfortunately the placement of the spare tire is still on the back of the body reduces the aesthetic appearance.
